Um-Melden means:
Someone moves into a new apartment in Salzgitter.
The person must then register the move with the authorities.
There are 3 different possibilities:
- Registration: Someone moves into a new apartment in Salzgitter.
- Deregistration: Someone moves away from Salzgitter.
- Moving to Salzgitter: Someone moves to from Salzgitter.
1. registration when moving into an apartment in Salzgitter
You are moving into an apartment in Salzgitter.
Then you must register with the Citizens' Center.
You must do this in the first 2 weeks after moving.
You register your move into the apartment at the Bürger-Center.
Please bring your identity card with you.
And bring a certificate from your landlord.
We will enter the new address in your ID card straight away.
ou have moved in together with family members.
For example, with your spouse or children.
Then you can also register them.
All persons must come to the Citizens' Center.
All persons must bring their birth certificates
and identity cards.
2. deregistration when moving away from Salzgitter
You are moving away from Salzgitter.
You are moving within Germany.
You register at your new place of residence within 2 weeks.
Then you do not need to deregister in Salzgitter.
You are moving abroad.
Then you must deregister in Salzgitter.
This must be done 7 days before you move away.
You need to deregister abroad.
For example, at a German representation abroad.
Representation means here: Office.
You go abroad together with family members.
For example, with your spouse or children.
Then you can also deregister them.
They do not have to come with you to the Citizens' Center.
But you must bring their identity cards with you.
We will fill out the papers with them at the Citizens' Center.
3. relocation in Salzgitter
You are moving to Salzgitter.
Then you must register with the Citizens' Center.
You must do this in the first 2 weeks after the move.
You register your move into the apartment at the Bürger-Center.
Please bring your identity card with you.
And bring the landlord's certificate with you.
We will enter the new address in your ID card immediately.
You have moved together with family members.
For example, with your spouse or children.
Then you can also register them.
They do not have to come to the Citizens' Center with you.
However, you must bring their identity cards with you.
Have you moved with a partner?
But you are not married?
Then your partner must come to the Citizens' Center with you.
The partner must register themselves.
We will fill out the paperwork with you at the Citizens' Center.
