Description
Funding from the job placement budget is intended to help you find and start a new job or an on-the-job training program. The Employment Agency can provide you with financial support, for example, by covering the costs of your
- job applications,
- travel to job interviews,
- required documents (such as certified copies or translations), or
- moving expenses (if you have to move for the new job).
These costs may be covered.
Your counseling and placement specialist will review and decide which costs can be covered based on your request or application before the expected costs are incurred.
You are eligible for this assistance if you
- are unemployed or at risk of unemployment—that is, you have already received your notice of termination—and wish to take on employment subject to social insurance contributions or
- are seeking on-the-job training.
You may also receive this support if you are seeking or starting employment subject to social insurance contributions in a member state of the European Union (EU), a signatory state to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, or in Switzerland. The requirement is that you work at least 15 hours per week.
You are not eligible for funding from the placement budget if
- the employer provides similar benefits,
- other public-law agencies are legally obligated to pay similar benefits, or
- you do not submit job applications yourself.
Please note that you have no legal entitlement to support from the job placement budget. Your local Employment Agency decides whether and to what extent you will receive financial support. You must also submit proof of your expenses.
