Description
Description
Anyone who has already obtained a permit to work with pathogens and has notified the competent authority of the commencement of such work is required to notify the competent authority immediately if
- significant changes are made to the nature and scope of the activity, the condition of the premises and equipment, or the waste disposal procedures, or
- work with pathogens is discontinued, or
- work with pathogens is resumed.
Even if a permit is not required, changes to the activity must be reported.
Exempt from the permit requirement are individuals who perform microbiological tests for diagnostic purposes on their own patients. These include, for example,
- physicians,
- dentists, and
- veterinarians.
Anyone working under the supervision of a person who holds a license or is exempt from the licensing requirement is not required to report a change in their activities.
