Queer stand-up comedian Tobias Born is currently enjoying a successful run on stages across Germany with his first solo show, “FREAKS! – The Country Needs New Men.”
The winner of the 2026 Dresden Humorzone Newcomer Competition and the 2024 Bielefeld Cabaret Award combines sharp humor with a clear social stance in his show.
With plenty of charm, energy, and a healthy dose of glitter, Tobias Born challenges traditional gender roles and takes a powerful stand against patriarchal structures and for more feminism. At the same time, he unerringly captures the absurdities of everyday life. “FREAKS!” shines a spotlight on the supposedly quirky sides of life—and celebrates the “freak” in all of us. Whether it’s quirky game nights, passionate Thermomix enthusiasts, or other extraordinary everyday situations: Born shows how liberating it can be not to bend yourself out of shape, but to embrace your own individuality and make it visible. His message is clear: Be yourself—everything else already exists.
It’s about seeing your own quirks as strengths, having the courage to embrace your differences, and standing together for an open, diverse society.
With “Freaks!”, Tobias Born brings a fresh, self-assured breeze to the German comedy and cultural scene—loud, colorful, and with a clear statement: Change can be fun. And it can sparkle!
