Behind this are personal book reviews, author portraits and reading or listening tips that particularly inspire employees in the city library and make them want to read, to immerse themselves in the infinitely diverse world of books.
The selection is subjective; not only the brand new books that are being discussed everywhere are featured, but also older titles, classics, audio books or even the occasional children's book.
However, the recommendations initially come from the large area of fiction for adults with novels, short stories, poetry and drama and from the area of literature for young adults. Interested readers can look forward to tips on new releases, series, special literary treasures and recent discoveries.
Books that have already been published can still be found in the archive. All recommended media are available in the library.

Ehrlich & Söhne by Ewald Arenz presented by Sylvia Fiedler
Funeral director Friedrich Ehrlich has an unusual profession, but also an unusual family. His own and adopted children stick together and would go through fire for their parents. Ewald Arenz weaves the most beautiful family chronicle in a long time from the life stories of three generations in a poetically cheerful tone.

Abysses of Medicine by Lydia Kang presented by Sylvia Fiedler
A gruesomely beautiful journey through the abysses of medical history - without prescription and with goosebumps guaranteed!
Weasel testicles as a contraceptive, bloodletting for blood loss or red-hot irons for lovesickness: from today's perspective, such treatment methods may seem completely absurd. But there were times when people firmly believed in their effectiveness. Either because scientific findings were deliberately ignored or because medicine was simply not yet ready. This richly illustrated book is an informative and entertaining collection of what has been falsely promised to people over the centuries as a cure - and often had the exact opposite effect.

The three of them live in the saddest house on Fröhlichstrasse in a small town that Tilda hates. Her friends are long gone, living in Amsterdam or Berlin, only Tilda has stayed. Because someone has to be there for Ida, earn money, bear the responsibility. There are no fathers worth mentioning, her mother is an alcoholic. One day, however, things start to change: Tilda is offered a doctorate in Berlin, and there is a flash of a future that promises freedom. And Viktor turns up, the older brother of Ivan, with whom Tilda used to be friends. Viktor, who, like her, always swims 22 lengths. But just as Tilda is about to believe that everything might turn out all right, the situation at home spirals out of control.
