Much to the regret of the City of Salzgitter’s Cultural Affairs Department, the Hamburg-based singer has decided to disband her acoustic duo with her longtime collaborator, pianist Jan Fischer, following the 2019 breakup of her band “Jessy Martens & Band,” which had enjoyed success in the blues-rock scene. From now on, she will devote herself entirely to her gospel choirs, vocal workshops, and her family. Therefore, there will be no rescheduled date.

The Cultural Affairs Department would like to apologize to everyone who was looking forward to the concert. Tickets can, of course, be returned to the ticket outlets where they were purchased.

If desired, the tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled concert on October 30, 2026. Program Director Majimbi Mergner has succeeded in securing the internationally renowned duo Meena Cryle & Chris Fillmore (vocals & guitar), together with Jan Fischer (piano), for an exclusive and one-of-a-kind concert at the Kniestedter Church (8:00 p.m.). Jan Fischer stepped in as a keyboardist in Meena’s band for two concerts last year. “The chemistry was electric,” as the artist puts it. So we can look forward to a highly inspired concert. Who knows—maybe we’ll even witness the formation of a new group that evening!
