The yellow bins and organic waste bins are particularly affected. To improve recycling and conserve valuable raw materials, the SRB asks all citizens to ensure that they sort their trash carefully and correctly.
Every piece of properly sorted packaging makes an important contribution to climate and resource protection. Proper waste separation allows valuable raw materials to be recycled and reused.
The yellow bin is intended exclusively for used and completely empty sales packaging made of plastic, metal, and composite materials.
Plastic household items, toys, dog waste, diapers, or general waste do not belong in the yellow bin.
How you fill the organic waste bin is also very important. Plastic bags or so-called biodegradable plastic bags must not be disposed of in the organic waste bin, as they do not break down quickly enough in recycling facilities. Organic waste should therefore be placed in the organic waste bin loose or wrapped in newspaper or paper bags.
By sorting waste properly, every citizen can make an important contribution to environmental and climate protection. Further information, sorting guidelines, and explanatory videos are available from the “Mülltrennung wirkt” initiative at www.muelltrennung-wirkt.de (opens in a new tab).
