Apply for participation in social group work

Description

Description

Participation in social group work is intended to help older children and adolescents overcome developmental difficulties and behavioral problems.

Social group work can be beneficial for children and adolescents if they

  • repeatedly get into violent altercations,
  • have low self-esteem and exhibit disruptive behavior,
  • are unable to stand up for themselves.

In social group work, older children and adolescents meet regularly under the guidance of trained educational professionals.

Social group work encourages social learning. It provides positive experiences, activities, and insights, thereby fostering respect for others and building self-confidence. The goal is for young people to develop into responsible individuals capable of functioning well within a community.

Goals and content depend on the theme of the social group work. Content may include:

  • Developing group dynamics,
  • Recognizing the triggers of one’s own anger and aggression,
  • recognizing and expressing one’s own feelings,
  • recognizing and respecting one’s own and others’ boundaries,
  • Resolving conflicts peacefully.

This is a type of educational assistance program. It may also apply to young adults.
