The folder is the companion for you and your child. There is space for your child's name on the front of the folder. The folder is divided into different compartments from pregnancy to adolescence and can therefore be used all the way through to adulthood.

The folder is designed to help you keep all documents and notes relating to your child together. You can fill the compartments with a wide variety of notes and thus keep an overview of your child's documents. You can also fill the folder together with your child by putting pictures in it or collecting painted artwork.

Before you start sorting the notes, you will find various information materials and a few small gifts in the folder when you hand it over - as part of the baby welcome after the birth of your child. They are intended to bring you a little joy and are a gift from the city.

The contents of the folder

Each folder is personally filled by the volunteer baby welcomers and regularly checked and updated by educational staff. Inside the folder there is all kinds of information material, such as flyers and brochures, as well as a few practical gifts for the start with a child. The motifs and colors of the gifts vary from folder to folder.

In addition to the gifts, families receive a lovingly compiled information package with helpful flyers and brochures about life with a newborn. These include materials on topics such as early help, baby consultation hours, child day care, exercise promotion and advice services in Salzgitter. This is supplemented by vouchers from family education centers. The content helps parents to find their way through this new phase of life in a well-informed and accompanied manner.

• A pair of hand-knitted baby socks in cooperation with various volunteers
• A high-quality children's spoon with the Salzgitter logo

The colors and motifs of the enclosed gifts may differ from the picture.

You will only receive the Salzgitter-Sammelmappe as part of the baby welcome from a volunteer. You do not need to apply for your folder. You will receive it automatically at your baby welcome a few weeks after the birth of your child.

No, the folder costs you nothing. It is presented to you as a gift on behalf of the City of Salzgitter and is intended to help you and your child get off to a successful start. The folder cannot be purchased and will only be handed out in connection with the baby welcome.
