Information about Neuwerk
Children can experience an extraordinary world on the small island in the North Sea.
Since the early 1960s, the town of Salzgitter has been running its youth and education camp on the small island in the middle of the German Bight in the North Sea, where children spend the night in communal tents and log cabins.
Children between the ages of 7 and 14 can take part.
They first travel by bus to Cuxhaven and then continue by boat to the island of Neuwerk, where they can experience pure nature. Numerous activities are offered on the island, from playing soccer to swimming and snorkeling to building mudflat castles. There is also an island rally, a treasure chest hunt, romantic evenings around the campfire and many, many activities that are prepared for the camps.
These ten-day Neuwerk camps cost 250 euros. This price includes all transportation costs, ship passage, use of the camp, full board including drinks, round-the-clock supervision and much more.
