The alarm procedures for fire station II in Salzgitter-Bad and the volunteer fire departments are also carried out by the integrated control center.

The fire brigade deploys according to the specifications of the keyword stored in the dispatch order in the operations control computer. Information on the scene, construction sites and bottlenecks is also displayed to the dispatcher on the monitor.

Once at the scene, everyone knows what needs to be done. Contact with the control center is maintained at all times during the operation via radio, cell phone, email (laptop) and digital message receiver. Furthermore, the contents of the Internet can be accessed at any time via the laptop.

The integrated control center alerts the fire department and supports the incident commander on site by alerting reinforcements or special units, notifying experts and researching databases and reference works.

Salzgitter police and fire department emergency services can obtain advice on the properties of chemicals and other dangerous goods and receive information on operational measures. In special cases, the integrated control center can provide specialist personnel or special equipment.

The control center (rescue control center) also dispatches and alerts the rescue service and patient transport for the city of Salzgitter and the joint municipality of Baddeckenstedt.
The integrated control center alerts and directs the deployment of emergency doctors and ambulances and, if necessary, requests rescue helicopters.

The control center is also responsible for managing public ambulance services in the Salzgitter rescue service area and the joint municipality of Baddeckenstedt. Patients who do not require emergency medical care are transported in ambulances. As a rule, this involves journeys from home to hospital, journeys to outpatient examinations and treatments as well as transfers. The integrated control centre receives transport orders and dispatches the ambulances of the Salzgitter professional fire department and the public aid organizations (DRK and JUH).

In the integrated control center, command rooms are available in which the emergency response team has the necessary resources to manage a large-scale operation. The integrated control center serves as a communication and information center.
