To ensure that you all have a good and above all healthy start to the new year, please note the following information:
- Read the manufacturer's instructions for use carefully and follow the instructions.
- Only use fireworks approved by the Federal Institute for Materials Testing (BAM No. xxx).
- Make your children aware of the dangers of handling fireworks and ensure that fireworks do not get into the hands of children.
- Ensure that the age regulations are observed.
- Keep windows and doors closed at the turn of the year so that no rockets can fly into your home.
- Remove flammable objects from your balcony.
- Only set off fireworks outdoors at a sufficient distance from people, animals and buildings.
- Do not throw pyrotechnic objects into doors and windows or onto roofs.
- Only launch rockets vertically from stable bottles.
- If fireworks do not ignite or fail, do not check or relight them, but douse them with water to prevent uncontrolled ignition.
- Only allow your children to light sparklers outdoors and under supervision.
If, despite all precautions, something does happen, take the following points to heart:
- Keep calm and act with caution.
- Call the fire department using the emergency number 112.
- Only attempt to extinguish the fire yourself if you do not put yourself in danger.
- Leave the danger zone.
- Close windows and doors.
- Warn the neighbors.
- Instruct the fire department.
- If the stairwell is filled with smoke, stay in the apartment and make yourself known to the fire department.
