Online lessons
The current range of lessons has been switched to online teaching. What is the idea behind this?
The idea behind this is to maintain contact with our students, to continue working and to provide everyone with good opportunities. We have developed alternative lessons to replace face-to-face teaching. The prerequisite is written consent from the parents.
What are the requirements for online lessons?
The basic requirement is functioning end devices on both sides. This can be a computer, an iPad or another pad. But a cell phone is also sufficient. A stable internet connection, good lighting and an undisturbed environment are just as important.
What difference does online teaching make for pupils?
The students' concentration and independence are required.
How does this form of online teaching affect the fees?
The music school fees will remain as they are because the lessons are taking place. In this challenging situation, we are trying to find the best individual solutions for everyone and offer meaningful lessons. Those who cannot or do not want to take advantage of the opportunity will make up the lessons during the vacation periods or may receive a refund of the fees at a later date.
Are there also lessons for the little ones?
There is a new offer for early musical education: small videos are created and invite the little ones to join in with their parents or grandparents. In this way, they are gradually introduced to digital lessons.
Anyone who has questions or would like advice is welcome to contact the music school team. Information, advice or trial lessons can also be provided via video chat if required.
Will online lessons continue to be expanded after the crisis?
The music school will certainly expand its offerings. A hybrid model is conceivable - a combination of regular lessons and online offerings. Online feedback lessons are an ideal addition. The music school is intensifying the use of audio/video recordings to supplement lessons. A structured online offering is planned for music theory, ear training, study preparation and also for low-threshold offerings.
A new offer for people with disabilities or for those who are unable to make the journey due to illness will be added.
Will online lessons replace regular lessons in the long term?
Not at all. The quality of the music school is and remains personal contact, face-to-face lessons with their motivating quality, the sharing of musical experiences, active participation in ensembles and participation in events for all citizens of the city of Salzgitter. Personal contact and togetherness is the be-all and end-all for any musical activity and experience. This value is indispensable.
How can the music school be contacted?
By e-mail or telephone (see availability).
