The media education advisory service performs the following tasks:
- pedagogical advice for school authorities, schools and day care centers in the city of Salzgitter
- Conceptual development of media equipment in an educational context in cooperation with the Salzgitter Medienzentrum
- Pedagogical support for media education concepts
- Supporting schools and daycare centers in the city of Salzgitter in the development and implementation of quality standards for teaching media skills
- Determining and coordinating media requirements in cooperation with the Salzgitter Medienzentrum
- Ensuring and supporting further training in media education through courses, internal school training, conferences and regional specialist forums
- Promoting active media work, media culture work and media production in schools and daycare facilities in close cooperation with the Medienzentrum Salzgitter and the NLM.
- Cooperation with regional and supra-regional media institutions, development and implementation of cross-regional cooperation with other municipal media centers in consultation with the municipal sponsors
- Regular further and advanced training and offers in the regions for schools and day-care centers
