Salzgitter

Waste law

The Lower Waste Authority performs the tasks of the Closed Substance Cycle and Waste Management Act and the associated sub-legal regulations.

The Lower Waste Authority essentially performs control and monitoring tasks. In addition to certain economic sectors, these tasks primarily concern illegal waste disposal.

In addition, there are separate regulations for Easter bonfires and garden waste in the area of the city of Salzgitter (see the information sheets in the download area).

The Closed Substance Cycle Waste Management Act (KrWG) introduced a new notification requirement for non-profit and commercial collections on June 1, 2012.
