The property owner must apply in writing to the SRB for waste garbage cans (residual waste garbage cans, organic waste garbage cans) of sufficient size for properties requiring connection. The first-time connection of a property is free of charge.

The property owner can select a suitable container volume depending on the volume of waste generated. The emptying frequency should be taken into account.

The following waste disposal fees are charged:

1. volume-related emptying fee for waste containers up to 240 liters

A minimum charge of 12 empties per calendar year is levied per residual waste container. If the use of a container ends before the end of the calendar year or the use only begins in the course of the calendar year, the minimum fee will be charged pro rata.


2. flat-rate disposal fee for large residual waste containers from 660 liters with weekly emptying (incl. collection service)

3. special services

In accordance with § 4 Para. 1 of the waste fee statutes of the City of Salzgitter, the fee for the provision of a refuse truck outside the regular collections carried out by the City (e.g. special emptying) is EUR 30.00 per 15 minutes or part thereof of provision time (loading time) of the refuse truck.

The charging of the fee in accordance with § 2 Para. 2, 5 and 6 remains unaffected by this.

Residual waste and organic waste bins (up to 240 liters) are collected every 14 days. The bins must be placed at the curb by 6:30 a.m. on collection day.
General waste bins are emptied during odd-numbered calendar weeks (e.g., calendar weeks 11, 13, 15).
Organic waste bins are emptied during even-numbered calendar weeks (e.g., calendar weeks 10, 12, 14). Collection dates are available in the online waste calendar.

The yellow bins ( 240 and 1,100 liters) are also emptied every 14 days. Collection takes place during even and odd calendar weeks. The specific collection dates can be found in the online waste calendar.

The household paper recycling bins (120 and 240 liters) are emptied once a month. Depending on the neighborhood, collection takes place on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Wednesday of the month. The specific collection dates can be found in the online waste calendar.

Waste paper containers (1,100 liters) are available for commercial businesses. The collection dates for these containers vary and are not listed in the online waste calendar. The collection dates for waste paper containers from commercial businesses can be requested by phone from the SRB’s dispatch department.

Large residual waste containers (660 liters and larger) are emptied weekly. The SRB picks up the containers from their designated locations and returns them afterward.

To ensure reliable and smooth waste collection, please follow these guidelines when placing your trash containers out for pickup:

• Placement: Waste containers must be placed at the curb by 6:30 a.m. on collection day.
• Positioning: The handles of the waste containers should face the street. The containers must be placed directly at the curb and not against a fence on private property.
• Access: The area around the waste containers must be freely accessible. Parked cars blocking the street, parked vehicles, construction sites, or other obstacles can make emptying the containers difficult or impossible.
• Lids: The lids of the trash bins must be completely closed.
• Filling: Waste containers may only be filled with the types of waste for whichthey are intended.
• Overfilling: Overfilled waste containers, as well as waste placed next to the containers, can prevent proper collection.

Proper placement of waste containers contributes to reliable and smooth collection.

The property owner must apply in writing to the SRB for changes to containers or new installations.
The installation and replacement of each additional waste container after the property has been connected for the first time is subject to a charge.
