Diebesstieg waste disposal facility - hazardous waste collection point
Hazardous waste from private households and commercial enterprises (limited quantities) is accepted at the Diebesstieg waste disposal facility at the hazardous waste collection point and sent for proper recycling or disposal.
The acceptance of hazardous waste from private households is free of charge - with the exception of used oil, used tires and railroad sleepers (charged in accordance with the waste disposal fee statutes).
Hazardous waste mobile
Once a year (spring), the hazardous waste mobile is on the road in Salzgitter. Hazardous waste from private households can be handed in free of charge at the pollutant mobile on the appropriate dates.
Hazardous waste that is subject to a charge, such as used oil, used tires and railroad sleepers as well as containers with a side dimension of more than 40 cm and a weight of more than 30 kg can only be delivered to the Diebesstieg hazardous waste collection point.

Disposal instructions
If possible, dispose of hazardous waste in its original packaging or in suitable, appropriately labeled containers.
Do not pour waste together.
Retailers are obliged to take back used oil and batteries.
Old electrical appliances must be recycled when the Waste Electrical Equipment Act comes into force. Waste is accepted free of charge at the Diebesstieg waste disposal facility.
Small electrical appliances with an edge length of up to 40 cm can also be handed in at the annual mobile hazardous waste collection.
