Salzgitter

Reading with Sigmar Gabriel

Former Vice-Chancellor and Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel will be reading from his new book "Zeitenwende in der Weltpolitik" on Wednesday, November 14, at 7 p.m. in the Fürstensaal of Salder Castle in Salzgitter.

"Germany's attitude will determine the future of Europe," Gabriel emphasizes. In his book, he writes: "Everything that has seemed reliable and secure to us Germans for decades is changing at a rapid pace: the USA no longer feels responsible for our security. European unification can no longer be taken for granted. We are once again experiencing a spiral of rearmament and a nuclear arms race."

He went on to emphasize: "The decisions now pending on our path are beyond political routine. Europe's unification and its international significance depend centrally on the question of how Germany behaves."

The question is clear, but it remains to be seen whether an answer can be found.

After being welcomed by Lord Mayor Frank Klingebiel, Gabriel will present his book, followed by an opportunity for discussion.

Klingebiel: "I am delighted that Sigmar Gabriel, who has always kept his home country in mind despite the many tasks and challenges at national and international level, will be presenting his book "Zeitenwende in der Weltpolitik - Mehr Verantwortung in ungewississen Zeiten" in Salzgitter at my request and I expect an interesting discussion - sometimes outside the box."

If you would like to attend the reading, please send an email to oberbuergermeisterstadt.salzgitterde by 12.11.2018 (12:00 noon). Please state the number of people and their names and addresses.
