The award is open to committed individuals who have worked for a club, association or youth organization in the field of children and youth work and youth sports. They can be nominated by youth groups, sports clubs and the specialist service for children, youth and families.

The Salzgitter-Brief is awarded every two years to committed individuals who have made a special contribution to children's and youth work and youth sport on a voluntary basis, usually without pay.

This year, the Salzgitter-Briefs will be presented on Friday, December 14, at 7 p.m. in the Kulturscheune in Salzgitter-Lebenstedt.

This is the tenth time that this award has been presented by the city of Salzgitter for special commitment in the area of children's youth work and youth sport.
