This was made possible by the members of the Salzgitter Youth Parliament together with the two brothers and managing directors of Thieder Dachdeckerei Marske, Peter and Dirk Marske. According to the siblings, this donation was a matter close to their hearts as they themselves attended the elementary school as children.

To inaugurate the two goals after the cutting of the red ribbon, eleven goal scorers competed against each other in a short game. One pupil from each class was allowed to shoot at the goal until four children were in the final. The last three scorers and winners who scored in the second round received a certificate and a small chest of sweets for the whole class as a prize. Everyone else also received a certificate of participation and an advent calendar.

The idea for the soccer goal donation, worth around 500 euros, had already originated in the old youth parliament, which existed until spring 2018. Its spokesperson at the time, Paula Fiedler, took the initiative and wrote to various potential donors, including the roofing company Marske.

The employees of Städtische Regiebetrieb (SRB) took care of the practical organization of setting up the gates.
