Salzgitter

New Year's Eve fireworks allowed for two days

The Citizen Service and Order Department would like to point out that the firing of New Year's Eve rockets, firecrackers and fireworks is permitted from New Year's Eve, Monday, December 31, to New Year's Day, Tuesday, January 1.

For the area of the city of Salzgitter, an exception to the requirement for a permit to fire certain pyrotechnic ammunition is permitted for these two days.

Before firing the ammunition, however, it must be ensured that public safety is not endangered. Firing is prohibited in the immediate vicinity of churches, hospitals, children's and retirement homes and particularly fire-sensitive buildings or facilities.

The city appeals to the population to keep an eye on the risk of accidents despite the festive mood, so that all those celebrating can start the New Year in a happy and carefree manner. In addition, the Citizen Service and Order Department makes it clear that access roads to fire stations must be kept clear.
