Christa Frenzel, First City Councillor of the city of Salzgitter, presented the certificates to the 13 women and men in a small ceremony and congratulated them on this award, which they can now use to volunteer with various organizations.

The participants completed several modules as part of the training from September 21 to December 15. Frenzel: "It's about more than just helping with visits to the authorities or filling out applications, it's about a wide variety of issues relating to everyday life, leisure activities or professional issues." And further: "They are bridge builders in a society that is still foreign."

Integration guides help people who have recently moved to Salzgitter to find their way in their new environment and support migrants who have been living here for some time with their linguistic, educational, professional or social integration.

The city of Salzgitter is grateful to all the volunteers who took part in the training course. Another course will be held next year.
