Salzgitter

Cast off for the "Arche 4"

Salzgitter has inaugurated a unique project with the "Arche 4": those responsible from the church, advisory council, local council and administration all agreed on this.

Around 100 guests took part in the varied celebration and discovered a special "house of encounters and movements" at Martin-Luther-Platz vier.

Christa Frenzel, First City Councillor of the City of Salzgitter, emphasized that the opening of "Arche 4" was a unique project in the East and West Settlement, but also in and for Salzgitter. "The Braunschweig regional church, the Noah parish and the city of Salzgitter have pulled together to get something good off the ground for people. They have succeeded." With funding from the "Socially Integrative City" urban development program, the church and sponsors, there is a special house that the residents can continue to fill with life. The First City Councillor emphasized that "Arche 4" is also a first in the cooperation between the church community and the city of Salzgitter. Furthermore, this project is unique because the Noah congregation is opening its house to the neighborhood and thus to all people in the neighborhood, regardless of denominational affiliation.

City planning officer Michael Tacke added that "Arche 4" was the fourth major urban development project in the east and west housing estate to be created with the help of the Soziale Stadt urban development program, which was financed by the federal government, the state and the local authority. Martin-Luther-Platz, the Roxy-Helco playground and the neighborhood park at the Ziesbergschule are the three other milestones that were created with urban development funding. The measures taken by the homeowners are important, but so is the commitment of the local people who volunteer in the eastern and western estates. The city planning officer was impressed by the structural design of "Arche 4", where the residents can do a lot. "I particularly like the idea of the church congregation to display the wishes of the advisory board members on the entrance door," said Michael Tacke. The city of Salzgitter had decided on the saying by Gottfried Keller: "Once happiness has arrived, it spreads easily." The city councillor gladly agreed with this wish and wished the "Arche 4" many good journeys.
