Salzgitter

Cultural conference in Salzgitter-Thiede

On the evening of March 8, 2018 (Thursday), the city hosted the third cultural development conference in the canteen of the Salzgitter-Thiede secondary school.

The exchange of ideas was once again as intensive as it was enriching and brought to light important findings and observations on the need for cultural policy action both in the context of the thematic rounds and in direct discussions between the participants. Among other things, this touched on the concerns of voluntary cultural work, infrastructural requirements and questions of effective public communication of the events on offer.

Prior to this, City Councillor Michael Tacke had warmly welcomed the attendees on behalf of Lord Mayor Frank Klingebiel and on behalf of Head of Cultural Affairs Eric Neiseke and opened the conference under the motto "Contributing ideas and visions". Before lively discussions about Salzgitter's culture took place at individual themed tables, those present were treated to two live cultural performances, this time all presented on stage by children and young people:

The choreographically demanding and impressively realized opening performance by the dance group of the Realschule Thiede (led by Rita Stammsitz) was followed by a singing performance by Kimberly Klönne, who had already impressed the participants of the previous cultural development conference with her skills and already has competition and stage experience.

Both performances were met with great applause from the audience and were the ideal prelude to the working groups that were then explained by Heike Bartels from the "just be" agency in terms of their process and objectives. The contributions from the discussion rounds were again collected in writing on this evening and - like the results from the other cultural development conferences, the online survey and the prize card campaign - will now be evaluated and made available to the cultural development process.

The winners of this year's prize draw, who went home at the end of the evening with a tangible "more" of culture, may well confirm that it can be rewarding in many ways to get involved in this process: They were presented with two tickets for the Kultursommer of the city of Salzgitter in front of Salder Castle, two tickets for the "Brother Dege - Putting the steel back into the blues" concert on Friday, April 27, in the Kniestedter Church in Salzgitter-Bad and a total of five Kulturcoupon booklets.
