Salzgitter

Salzgitter has one more leisure attraction

Following the completion of the first construction phase of the modernization measures of the former indoor outdoor pool, the new Stadtbad building was opened after a construction phase of around two years.

Together with Elias and Moritz from the St. Markus kindergarten, Ulrich Leidecker, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Bäder, Sport, Freizeit Salzgitter GmbH, and Mayor Stefan Klein symbolically cut the red ribbon in the entrance area.

"We never expected so many people to come," says Walter Strauß, Managing Director of Bäder, Sport und Freizeit Salzgitter GmbH. The gates were opened at 11 am. Many curious people came and were able to explore the new indoor swimming pool in a playful way with a puzzle. Guests were also able to win great prizes on the wheel of fortune and learn about the technical processes behind a swimming pool. Those who wanted to find out even more were then able to take part in a guided tour of the technology.

Visitors were then able to jump into the water for the first time on Sunday, May 6. There was a varied hands-on program with games and aqua fitness activities.

The pool is a sight to behold. A modern ambience, lots of light and more water areas make for a refreshing visit. The new building cost 9.2 million euros. New features include the toddler area with three pools, slide and water play area, an attraction pool with four 25-meter lanes, climbing rings, swing grotto, massage jets and water bubblers. The multifunctional pool offers the optimum water depth for every course.

The pool with sports pool and slide is scheduled for completion in summer 2019. The changing rooms, showers, toilets and the area around the 25-metre pool will also be renovated by then.
