The nine largest grants range from 50,000 euros for a roof renovation of the clubhouse of the Ringelheim shooting guild to 280,000 euros each for an artificial turf pitch for the SV Fortuna Lebenstedt and SV Arminia Vechelde soccer clubs.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Lord Mayor Klingebiel, commented: "I am delighted that we are able to support the important voluntary work of our citizens for the 7th time with these project grants, not only through appreciative words but also through concrete actions. The foundation has already invested almost 8 million euros in charitable projects since 2013. I am proud that, with this considerable amount of funding, we are making a lasting contribution to ensuring that our associations, charitable institutions and facilities can position themselves for the future and realize charitable projects that they would otherwise not have been able to finance. I would particularly like to thank the many volunteers who are constantly developing, tackling, driving forward and implementing new ideas for the community. They are the cement of our urban society and make it particularly liveable."
As was the case last year, the individual sponsorship agreements will be handed over at Salzgitter Lake in August 2019. In addition to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees Frank Klingebiel, the other members of the Board of Trustees, Salzgitter councillors Thomas Huppertz, Stefan Klein, Michael Letter, Clemens Löcke, the federal representative Dr. Gernot Eilers, the state representatives Matthias Wunderling-Weilbier and the mayor of Lengede, Maren Wegener, as well as the honorary managing directors Rainer Dworog and Wolfram Skorczyk, are already looking forward to an interesting exchange at Salzgitter Lake with the many volunteers about their great projects.
