Salzgitter

Lots of ideas for a new playground

Around 20 girls and boys from Osterlinde took part in the first children's participation campaign for the new playground.

What should the new playground in Schlesierweg look like? What do the children want? The city of Salzgitter invited all children up to the age of twelve to the kick-off event in the village community center. Parents were of course also allowed to attend the event...

But the focus was on the ideas of the girls and boys. With great enthusiasm, the little ones drew and wrote down their ideas for playing, running around and being active. They were eagerly active at the tables and also exchanged ideas with each other. The crepes baked by some of the mothers were of course just as popular with the children as the Yoyos, which were given as a small thank-you after the work was done.

The adults collected 32 contributions at the end. The children who were unable to attend the kick-off event had already drawn their ideas in advance and given them to the other children.

The city council (SRB) thanked the dedicated children and Astrid Penke, deputy mayor, for organizing the first children's participation campaign.

The new playground, which is being planned and built by the SRB at the request of the local council of the village of Nordwest, is due to open next year.
