During these three days, approx. 20 pressure soundings with an exploration depth of approx. 10 meters will be drilled in the area of the serpentine of Burgbergstrasse. With the help of these soundings, the "weak zone" of the subsoil is to be localized so that the planned remediation measures can be implemented precisely.

It has been known for some time that the subsoil of the serpentine moves slightly throughout the year. This movement repeatedly leads to stress cracks on the surface of the existing asphalt. The stress cracks and movements are regularly monitored by surveying.

The renovation of the serpentine is planned for the 2021 financial year.

A full closure of Burgbergstraße out of town is necessary due to these geotechnical investigations. A detour route via Osterlinde will be signposted from tomorrow, Tuesday, April 9. In addition, appropriate signs will be erected in Oelber, Lichtenberg and on the A 39. Traffic obstructions are to be expected during the investigations.

The full closure of the serpentine from Lichtenberg ends at the Lichtenberg parking lot. This parking lot at the edge of the forest can also be reached from Oelber during this work.
