They continue to be a mainstay of social stability and economic dynamism. Their economic activity is therefore to be promoted in Salzgitter through a municipal program. With the newly launched "Support program for start-ups and small businesses", the city of Salzgitter is supporting investments by small businesses with up to 10 employees and start-ups in Salzgitter as a business location.

"We are convinced that Salzgitter is an attractive location for investment and would like to increase the incentive for start-ups and small businesses to invest here," says Lord Mayor Frank Klingebiel.

Funding is provided in the form of a project-related, non-repayable grant as part of the overall financing. Funding is available for investments of 10,000 euros or more in tangible fixed assets.

Small companies with up to 10 employees and start-ups that create jobs or training positions or secure existing employment with the help of the investment are eligible to apply for this funding. Applicants can finance up to 20 percent of eligible investments through this grant. The maximum funding amount is 50,000 euros.

"This funding program is intended to support small businesses, start-ups and company successors in their willingness to invest in order to secure their growth and employment," says Thomas Wetzel, Managing Director of Wirtschafts- und Innovationsförderung Salzgitter GmbH (WIS).

WIS implements the funding program on behalf of the city of Salzgitter and is available to companies and start-ups for all questions relating to investment funding. "Thanks to the city council's decision in favor of the funding program and the cooperation with the business development agency, we were able to make municipal funds available. We want to use these in the interests of the local economy and promote investment," concludes Frank Klingebiel.
