KJT Graffiti is being renovated

The Graffiti children's and youth club in the Stadtpark is being renovated and will therefore be closed from April 5. All activities will continue to take place. Instead, the entire KJT will move to the Forellenhof youth culture workshop (JKW).

Temporary farewell is celebrated

On Friday, March 29, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., the temporary farewell to Graffiti will be celebrated with a party.

Extensive work is required on the Graffiti children's and youth club, which was built in 1952 and cannot be carried out during normal operations: The flooring is being renewed, as are the interior rooms, which are also being converted to make them barrier-free. The rooms will then be redistributed. The upper floor, which has not been used for some time, will be converted for youth work. The kitchen will also be enlarged. The planning for this all-round renovation was also carried out with the involvement of the children who regularly visit the youth club.

The renovation work is essential to ensure the continued use of the children's and youth center. This project is being funded with around one million euros from the Lower Saxony Integration Fund.

The most important news for children, young people and parents: the projects, childcare services and group work will be offered as usual from April 8 and will all take place in the Forellenhof youth culture workshop at Forellenweg 10. This also applies to all childcare programs during the summer vacations, such as the vacation adventure days (FETSZ) and the hands-on circus.

However, the team of two teachers and volunteer youth leaders will be available at Forellenhof from April 8. The team can also still be contacted on the Graffiti telephone number (42168), the Forellenhof telephone number (43972) and the mobile number 0151/20025192. The municipal media education department will also be located in the Forelle during this time. It can still be contacted on 0151/62873378.

Schoolchildren will be transported from the school to the Forellenhof from April.

The opening hours for the Open Door for children are from 2 pm to 6 pm; for young people, the Open Door in the Forellenhof is even available until 9 pm. The extensive work at the Graffiti children's and youth club should be completed by March 2020. The reopening will then also be celebrated with a party.
