Selected natural sites with special impressions are presented in the Naturatlas. It offers interesting facts about the fauna, flora and cultural landscape, as well as information on circular trails and local offers. The focus is on a conscious experience of nature and landscape.
Visit www.naturatlas.info to discover the digital diversity, which also reflects the variety of habitats and species in the Northern Harz Foreland - whether in the open countryside or in the middle of the city, and often in only supposedly familiar or unexpected places. A link to existing tours also enables stamps and other regional experiences.
The "Naturatlas digital" is a joint initiative of the ILE partners Northern Harz Foreland. In accordance with the tried and tested principle of shared responsibilities, the lead management lies with the Salzgitter Economic and Innovation Development Corporation (WIS) together with the Environment Department of the City of Salzgitter.
The project is the result of cooperation between full-time and voluntary stakeholders from all municipalities, together with the regional office for south-eastern Lower Saxony of NABU (Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union) Niedersachsen e.V. in Salzgitter. The Northern Harz Foreland Tourism Association and representatives of the Harz Club were and are also involved.
The project is modeled on the "Naturatlas Salzgitter", which only covers the city area and was set up years ago as an attractive series and ILE project in cooperation between NABU and the city of Salzgitter.
