Salzgitter

Accommodation solution for administrative staff

Head of administration Klingebiel presents accommodation solution for administrative staff. Parts of the city administration will move to the city center of Salzgitter-Bad in the first quarter of 2020.

As recently as 29.10.2019, the Council unanimously passed a joint motion by the Lord Mayor and all Council parties to use the building of the municipal housing association available in the KMU-Area business park not for the accommodation of municipal employees, but to keep it available and actively offer it for the establishment of innovative drive technologies such as battery cells, hydrogen or other future technologies.

At the same time, the Lord Mayor was instructed and authorized to meet the city administration's urgent need for additional space elsewhere.

Today, he proudly presents his solution: the premises in the Salzgitter-Bad savings bank (part of the savings bank building) that will become available at the beginning of next year as a result of the savings bank merger.

Mayor Klingebiel: "I very much regret that our savings bank has to go this way. However, this situation opens up an unplanned solution for us, which must now be described as a unique opportunity. By renting the savings bank premises in Salzgitter-Bad, we are killing three birds with one stone.

Firstly, I am solving the city administration's urgent need for space. Secondly, in the town center of Salzgitter-Bad, which was severely damaged by the fire, a further significant vacancy in a particularly centrally located building will be prevented. Thirdly, the municipal employees working there will make a significant contribution to the revitalization of Salzgitter-Bad's city centre."
