The city of Salzgitter has invested more than 13.7 million euros in the refurbishment. The project was implemented by the municipal Bäder, Sport und Freizeit Salzgitter GmbH.

A particular challenge was combining the new building, which was completed in May 2018, with the leisure and toddler area and the existing indoor swimming pool from the 1960s, which was extensively renovated in the second construction phase.

The new features here include four large collective changing rooms for schools and clubs with sanitary facilities, the renovated pool surround, the new ceiling and lighting.

The 25-meter stainless steel pool, which was installed in 2009, shines in new splendour with six 25-meter lanes, modern starting blocks and the diving tower.

The 100-meter tube slide is still being renovated. Other facilities in the new section include the children's area with three pools, slide and water play area, the attraction pool with massage jets and water bubblers, a multifunctional pool with lifting floor and the bistro. The outdoor area with terrace and sunbathing lawn invites you to relax in the open air when the weather is fine.

New admission prices and opening hours apply with immediate effect. On Mondays, the pool is reserved for schools and clubs.
