At this year's proclamation in the Fürstensaal, Heidemarie Sturmat from the Lebenstedt shooting club was crowned town queen and Christian Pätzold from the Gebhardshagen shooting club was crowned town king. Hagen Döding from the Gitter shooting club was honored as the city's youth king.

Mayor Frank Klingebiel welcomed the shooting comrades in attendance and emphasized the important role that shooting plays in Salzgitter's club landscape.

Since 1973, the Lord Mayor has traditionally welcomed the shooting kings and queens. This reception has been held in the Fürstensaal since 1985.
