This sign of support was well received by the VW General Works Council. It thanked the local politicians in an open letter.

Klingebiel and all the parliamentary groups have called for the Salzgitter site to be earmarked for battery cell production. The letter from the General Works Council also states that Salzgitter, with its location in the heart of the Volkswagen world, with its expertise from the pilot line, with the existing infrastructure and expansion areas, would have the best prerequisites for a positive location decision.

With the resolution and the open letter, all those involved are symbolizing unity and sending an important signal to the Executive Board and Supervisory Board.
