Salzgitter

Best band in the region wanted

The region's biggest band competition is once again looking for the best band. The organizer is the City of Salzgitter's Department of Culture.

Bands that have already taken part or even won are also allowed to compete again.

All styles of music are welcome at the "Salzig Band Competition" in Salzgitter. Condition: The lyrics must be adult-friendly and must not glorify violence.

The final will be broadcast online from 00:00 on Saturday, August 29, with a time delay, but in real time. The sound tracks will be professionally supervised by the City of Salzgitter's sound engineer Harald Baumgartner, lighting technology by event manager Tobi Reichstein and video recordings by the City of Salzgitter's Medienzentrum.

All recordings will take place in the Kulturscheune in the old village of Salzgitter-Lebenstedt.

The online audience and an on-site jury will select the best band in the region from five finalists. If more than five bands register, a jury will make a pre-selection.

The winner will be allowed to record for five days in the town's recording studio (value: 1500 euros). The second and third-placed bands receive vouchers for instruments and accessories worth 350 and 150 euros respectively.

If the average age of the band is under 30, they qualify for the semi-finals of the so-called "Local heroes competition" of the LAG Rock in Hanover. Otherwise, the best-placed band that meets this requirement will qualify.

As a special prize, this band will receive professional band coaching with Voice of Germany semi-finalist Meike Hammerschmidt, who will form the jury alongside Jens Bogdan and Harald Baumgartner.

A full-length song (no cover version, no cover elements) can be sent by 31.07.2020 as a demo CD, on stick or as an MP3 file (no link!), band photos (size: minimum 1 MB) and short biography (formulated, no keywords).
