One important decision concerned the composition of the Administrative Committee itself. As the Die Linke parliamentary group is only represented on the Administrative Committee with a non-voting basic mandate, the Lord Mayor and all 6 parliamentary group chairmen of the Council have politically agreed in this exceptional situation that the Die Linke parliamentary group will be temporarily enabled to vote on the Administrative Committee during this temporary state of emergency through political agreements among themselves. Specifically, this means that an SPD councillor on the administrative committee transfers his voting rights to the basic mandate holder of the Die Linke parliamentary group and a CDU councillor waives his right to vote on the administrative committee.
Councillor Hermann Fleischer (Die Linke) will now take the place of Councillor Wolfgang Bauer as an alderman on the Administrative Committee. Councillor Selahettin Ince (Die Linke) will be appointed as a deputy for the new alderman Hermann Fleischer. Deputy First Mayor Stefan Klein (SPD) will be represented by Councillor Frank Miska (SPD) instead of Councillor Michael Loos (SPD).
In addition, in a letter dated March 24, 2020, the Bündins 90 / Die Grünen parliamentary group appointed Councillor Michael Dröse as the second representative for Deputy Second Mayor Marcel Bürger.
On the Supervisory Board of KVG mbH Braunschweig, Councillor Thomas Huppertz (CDU) succeeds the deceased Councillor Klaus Poetsch (CDU). Klaus Poetsch was also a representative of the city of Salzgitter in the Greater Braunschweig Association Assembly. This function will now be assumed by Councillor Nuno Matos da Silva (CDU) by decision of the Administrative Committee.
Additional members were also appointed to the Environment and Climate Committee. Ms. Lucy Torbecke attends the committee meetings as an advisory member without voting rights and Leon Jahns as her deputy, while Mathias Brandfass is appointed as deputy for the newly elected member Uwe Geisler. Advisory members were also appointed to the Youth Welfare Committee. The new member is Petra Siems-Wanjura, who is represented on the committee by Antje Kolbusa.
