Mayor Frank Klingebiel, together with Michael Tacke, Head of the Building Department, Gerard Jaschkowitz, Operations Manager of Salzgitter Grundstücksentwicklung (SZGE); Michael Buntfusz, Head of the Environment Department; SZGE employee Bjoern Lewandowsky from the City of Salzgitter and Wilfried Schaper-Jesussek from the Feldmarkinteressenschaft, visited the site to gain an impression of the development area and the associated compensatory measures.
Overall, according to Klingebiel, it is a successful measure, as all the requirements for the development of the new building area have been well implemented. The members of the Feldmarkinteressenschaft, i.e. the experts who are familiar with the area, were also involved in the planning. The fact that the ecological aspect was taken into account is particularly noteworthy. The compensatory measure of renaturalizing the Rottenbach stream was implemented right next to the new construction area. For those who are lucky enough to build here, it is only a short walk into nature - into the Feldmark and the Lichtenberge.
