Since January 1, 2020, practitioners of alternative medicine within the meaning of the Heilpraktikergesetz have been obliged to notify the authorities of their practice.
This means that non-medical practitioners must immediately notify the public health department in writing if they wish to practise medicine. The prerequisite for this is a license in accordance with the Heilpraktikergesetz, which must be submitted with the notification.
The notification must include the surname, maiden name, first names, gender, date of birth, place of birth, address of residence and place of practice as well as the medical procedures used.
The termination of the activity and changes to the data provided must also be reported to the public health department in writing.
All non-medical practitioners who have previously practised a corresponding activity and continue to do so are also obliged to notify the authorities by Sunday, March 1, 2020. This is not a new application for a license, but only a notification obligation.
Please contact your local health authority in the city of Salzgitter to find out how you need to report your activity. The local health authority has a form available for download at the bottom of this page.
