In two events last Friday, 31 July, and today, Monday, 3 August, the new recruits were welcomed by Thomas Albrecht, Head of Human Resources and Organization. For seven of them, the welcome was combined with their appointment as candidate city inspectors. The junior staff are completing the following courses of study and training at the city:
- five female dual students and two dual students general administration,
- one dual student in civil engineering,
-three trainees as administrative assistants and five trainees as administrative assistants
-two trainees as IT specialists,
-one trainee emergency paramedic and two trainees as emergency paramedics,
- one gardener trainee and
- one trainee road maintenance worker.
In his welcoming address, Head of Specialist Services Thomas Albrecht emphasized: "You have made exactly the right decision. We need you and by studying and training with the City of Salzgitter, you have chosen a promising career in the public sector. You have the opportunity to work for our citizens in Salzgitter."
After successfully completing their training/studies, the new recruits are generally guaranteed employment by Lord Mayor Frank Klingebiel.
Interested parties can also apply online for next year (training starts on August 1, 2021) until September 30, 2020 at www.salzgitter.de/karriere. Apprenticeships are offered as a gardener specializing in horticulture and landscaping, as a specialist in media and information services, as a building cleaner and as an administrative assistant.
Two dual study courses are also offered: City Inspector Candidate in the dual study program General Administration with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree and the dual study program Social Work. The municipal website also provides information on the apprenticeships and degree courses on offer.
