Salzgitter

Online survey: Youth and leisure on bikes and rollers in Gebhardshagen

The Salzgitter Youth Parliament is inviting young people to take part in an online survey for a concept to build a pump track facility in Gebhardshagen. Participation is possible until St. Nicholas Day.

In the summer, the Salzgitter City Council approved the proposal of the local council of the West district: The administration was commissioned to draw up a concept for the construction of a pump track facility in Gebhardshagen. The reason given was that many young people use skate or pump track facilities and that these offer a social meeting point as well as a meaningful sporting leisure activity. In Gebhardshagen, a pump track facility could create a new offer for Salzgitter's youth for riders of skateboards, mini-scooters, inline skates or BMX bikes, among others.

The youth parliament would like to involve young people directly in this concept and is therefore inviting them to take part in an online survey about leisure time on bikes and wheels. "What kind of wheels do young people use? What could such a pump track facility look like? What would the condition of the ground have to be like?" are questions to determine, among other things, the size of the facility, the condition of the ground, possible costs and the interests of young people.

These answers will be incorporated into the concept to be developed, which will then be discussed by representatives of the West Local Council, the Youth Parliament and the Youth Welfare Committee.

Taking part in the survey is very easy: either scan the QR code below or click directly on the link that leads to the survey page! Participation is possible until December 6th.
