Salzgitter

Council meeting on January 22

Right at the beginning of the council meeting on January 22, the topic was the establishment of a natural swimming pool in Salzgittersee. Following a comprehensive review, Bäder, Sport und Freizeit GmbH (BSF) proposed that this should not be done.

The committee was informed about this in detail as part of a communication presentation.

The city parliament passed a resolution on the election of the honorary judges at the Braunschweig Administrative Court for the election period from April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2025.

In the further course of the agenda, Councillor Eric Neiseke was appointed to the position of deputy municipal electoral officer in the current municipal election period and is thus the deputy of municipal electoral officer Councillor Michael Tacke.

Neiseke will now also perform the duties of deputy electoral officer for the duration of the current legislative periods of the Lower Saxony state parliament and the European Parliament. The district electoral administration for the 2017 Bundestagswahl was the responsibility of the district of Wolfenbüttel.

The council also approved the replacement of the four passenger elevators at Salzgitter-Lebenstedt town hall. They are no longer state of the art and need to be completely replaced, including the lifting and control technology as well as the cabins. The target completion date is mid-2020.

Other items on the agenda: Appointment of an auditor for the auditing department, determination of the advisory members and their deputies for the youth welfare committee, resolution on the district development concept for Salzgitter-Gitter, development plan for Salzgitter-Osterlinde "Schlesierweg", access road to the Schwarz-Weiss Steterburg tennis facility

The meeting ended with questions and motions from the parliamentary groups. The current and detailed agenda can be viewed in the citizen information system at salzgitter.de.
