The Family Service of the City of Salzgitter is looking for new childminders for the care and education of children in Salzgitter and offers interested women and men a recognized professional basic qualification according to the competence-oriented qualification manual for childminding (QHB) of the German Youth Institute. In Salzgitter, the qualification is a joint project between the city of Salzgitter and the Protestant and Catholic Family Education Center Salzgitter.

In addition to the 300 hours of instruction, participants in the qualification course also have the opportunity to gain practical experience in crèches and child day care in order to be well prepared for the care and education of day children. The course consists of a preparatory part and an accompanying part.

Upon successful completion of the preparatory part of the course, a first certificate from the Bundesverband Kindertagespflege e.V. can be obtained. This means that graduates are already professionally qualified for child day care.

Once a care permit has been issued, they can then start looking after children while they continue to learn in the part of the course that accompanies the activity.

On Thursday, October 1, the next basic qualification will start in Salzgitter with the preparatory part of the course, which ends in March 2021. Classes usually take place from Monday to Friday between 8.30 am and 11.45 am. There are no lessons on public holidays and during school vacations.
