Salzgitter

Sponsor sought for new kindergarten

The city of Salzgitter is currently looking for a sponsor for the kindergarten currently being planned in the Fredenberg-West development area on Elisabeth-Selbert-Ring in Salzgitter-Lebenstedt.

This is what the kindergarten should look like in the future. The entire construction sketch can be seen on the tender website. (Link at the bottom of this page)

The 1,500 square meter building will provide space for two crèche and three kindergarten groups, or 105 crèche and nursery places.

Generous interior design

The building is characterized by its spacious interior design, which gives the future provider a wide range of options when it comes to designing the childcare services.

In addition to the group rooms, additional rooms offer the possibility of special support programs, the establishment of a learning workshop and a creative area.

There is also a spacious children's cafeteria and an exercise room that invites children to play and run around.

Healthy eating is an important aspect of the future daycare center. The food is prepared in a spacious kitchen in accordance with the standards of the German Society for Healthy Nutrition (DGE).

All kindergartens in the city are run by independent youth welfare organizations. The Children, Youth and Family Department of the City of Salzgitter works closely with the providers and the daycare centers to ensure that the children receive professional care.

Requirements for the future carrier

One requirement for the future provider after the daycare center opens is to offer a core care time of eight hours per day and to set up additional special opening times from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. or from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., depending on demand.

Requirements are also placed on staffing. The city administration would like the provider to employ two specialist staff for 25 children in the kindergarten group in accordance with the legal requirements, and there should be two specialist staff for a maximum of fifteen children in the crèche group. In addition, a third member of staff must be employed in the crèche.

The pedagogical concept

With regard to the pedagogical concept of kindergartens in the city, the city council has decided that all newly opened daycare centers must choose a focus in their pedagogical work based on the social environment of the facility.

For the Fredenberg-West daycare center, this means that the kindergarten must focus on the family background of the children who will attend the daycare center in the future. This means that the provider must have an inclusive attitude, i.e. accept children with and without disabilities and be interculturally sensitive, as children with foreign roots from different nations will attend the kindergarten. It is mandatory for all Salzgitter facilities to promote the language development of the children in their care.

Staff should also have a multicultural background wherever possible. Religious affiliation, gender and age should not play a role in the selection of employees.

Application deadline

Organizations interested in sponsorship can still apply until Friday, 30 October to the City of Salzgitter, Fachdienst Kinder, Jugend und Familie, Joachim-Campe-Straße 9 -11,
38226 Salzgitter(-Lebenstedt).
