Frank Klingebiel paid tribute to Eva-Maria Triebe's special commitment to the community and thus to the people of Salzgitter. The commitment and the many activities of Eva-Maria Triebe are an exemplary example of what can be achieved in Salzgitter with voluntary work. "This commitment connects people, it conveys a sense of togetherness. It enriches our city and is what makes Salzgitter so human," said the Lord Mayor.
Eva-Maria Triebe has been running the "donation store" in the pedestrian zone in Salzgitter-Bad since 2015. The store is run by the Friends of the Women's Union, members and helpers. Donated household items such as porcelain, books, household items and much more are sold in the store. The proceeds are used to support social projects such as the Brotzeit association, reading promotion at elementary school, benches in Salzgitter-Bad, animal welfare and the "green classroom".
Since 2013, Eva-Maria Triebe has also organized a special women's cinema evening "Lady Cinema", which takes place three times a year. The surplus is donated to a charitable cause via the charity store.
The 60-year-old is also active as a volunteer in many associations in Salzgitter. Among other things, she was second chairwoman of the Altstadtschule school childcare association, secretary of the Chernobyl victims' association and is a member of the Salzgitter food bank.
Eva-Maria Triebe has been active in local politics for decades. She joined the Salzgitter CDU district association in 1981 and has been active on the board of the Salzgitter-Bad CDU local association since the mid-1990s, including as treasurer from 2003 to 2016. To this day, the Salzgitter native remains active as an assessor in the local association and CDU district association. For many years, she helped organize the Festival of Lights in the Rose Garden and participation in the Old Town Festival for the local CDU association. She is a co-initiator of the Salzgitter Cup. She was also a member of the Braunschweig state executive for many years.
Eva-Maria Triebe has been active in the Women's Union of the Salzgitter CDU district association since 1996, from 2000 to 2005 as deputy chairwoman and from 2006 to 2020 as chairwoman. During this time, she initiated and organized various non-party events such as clothing fairs, celebrity cookouts at the Mothers' Centre, excursions and raffles for children and adults. She was also a state and national delegate of the Women's Union for many years.
