Salzgitter

Caution in the vicinity of crow colonies

In some areas of the city of Salzgitter where crows live in large colonies, the birds are currently trying to defend their breeding clutches. In some cases, the birds behave aggressively.

This aggressive behavior of the crows has never occurred in Salzgitter before.

Residents and citizens are therefore asked to exercise particular caution in the area of these colonies.

According to experience from other cities, the aggressiveness of the birds only occurs during the breeding season and, from experience, only over a period of two to three weeks.

The city council advises avoiding these breeding areas where possible. As it is not always possible to avoid them, for example because you have to use a path every day, the authority advises you to put up an umbrella for your own protection or wear headgear, as the birds always attack the highest point.
