Salzgitter

Cycle path work near Gebhardshagen from November 2

Road users must expect obstructions on the state road 670 in Salzgitter in the coming weeks. This is due to cycle path work near Gebhardshagen.

The state authority for road construction and traffic pointed this out on Monday in Wolfenbüttel.

The authority also announced that work will begin on Tuesday, November 2, in the area from the junction of L 670/Nord-Süd-Straße to the junction of Nord-Süd-Straße/Lobmachtersenstraße.

The asphalt of the cycle path will be renewed here. The work is expected to take a maximum of three weeks.

The cycle path will then be resurfaced between the junction of Nord-Süd-Straße/Lobmachtersenstraße and the junction of Nord-Süd-Straße/Vor der Burg. This work should also take a maximum of three weeks.

The carriageway of the L 670 will be closed on one side in sections and pedestrians and cyclists will be diverted through Gebhardshagen.

This follows work on the cycle path on the L 636 between the landfill site and Heerte and work on the cycle path and carriageway on the L 636 between Heerte and Barum. The cycle path in this area is still closed as unforeseen work is required to improve the surface.

In a final section, the cycle path at the L 636/Nord-Süd-Straße junction is to be renewed. The state authorities will provide further information on this.

The costs of the overall measure amount to around 520,000 euros and will be borne by the state of Lower Saxony.

The state authority asks the affected road users and residents for their understanding. Weather-related delays are generally possible.
