In 2018, a tree nature trail was set up in the city park to make the diversity of tree species there more tangible. Information boards were set up on 40 trees, both native and foreign species, explaining the special features of the tree species such as size, age, flowers, fruit, growth form and possible uses.

A leaflet has been produced for the educational tree trail, showing the exact locations of the various tree species so that they can be deliberately visited if interested or viewed as a whole on a tour. The tree trail also offers school classes the opportunity to get to know both native and exotic trees.

The information leaflet about the educational tree trail is available in the town hall and at the Salzgitter municipal administration office (SRB) at Korbmacherweg 5. Interested schools can order copies for school lessons from the SRBsrbstadt.salzgitterde. It is also available in pdf format on the City of Salzgitter's website www.salzgitter.de.
