Postal vote:
By 9 a.m. on Tuesday, September 21, the postal voting offices had processed over 12,500 postal vote applications - already more than four years ago (around 9,900).
From September 22, it will no longer be possible to apply for postal voting documents online, as the timely delivery of documents by post can no longer be guaranteed. Due to postal delivery times, all interested parties are generally advised to only apply for and collect postal voting documents directly from the postal voting offices from Wednesday.
Votes can still be cast directly at the postal voting offices until Friday on presentation of an identity document and the election notification sent to you.
In the Salzgitter-Bad branch office and in Salzgitter-Lebenstedt town hall, the postal voting office for the Bundestag election is still open at the following times:
- Wednesday to Friday 8.00 a.m. - 12.30 p.m.
- Wednesday 13.30 - 15.00
- Thursday 13.30 - 18.00
- Friday (only at the town hall in Salzgitter-Lebenstedt) 1.30 pm - 6 pm
The postal voting offices are barrier-free.
Applying for and receiving postal voting documents for another person is only possible with appropriate authorization and for a maximum of four persons. In the event of a sudden serious illness, a polling card and postal voting documents can still be applied for and issued on Saturday, September 25, between 11.00 a.m. and 12.00 noon and on election Sunday from 8.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. If you have any questions, please contact the postal voting office on 05341 / 839-3665.
Information on election Sunday:
Don't forget: polling stations are open continuously from 8 am to 6 pm. Germans are entitled to vote if they are 18 years old on election day, have been resident in the Federal Republic of Germany for at least three months, are not excluded from the right to vote due to a civil or criminal court decision and are entered in the voters' register.
The electoral office would like to point out that postal voting documents must be in the mailbox at the town hall in Salzgitter-Lebenstedt by 6 p.m. on Sunday at the latest.
Anyone who cannot find their polling card on election Sunday can still vote. The only thing that matters is the entry in the electoral roll of the relevant polling station. If you are registered there, you can also exercise your right to vote by presenting your identity card or passport.
Election presentation:
On Sunday, September 26, the city of Salzgitter will provide information on the outcome of the Bundestagswahl via live pages. The results from the individual polling districts will also appear on the salzgitter.de website as soon as they are received at the polling station.
