Deutsche Glasfaser to start civil engineering work shortly

The planning phase for the expansion of the fiber optic network in Fredenberg South, Fredenberg West and Lesse is now almost complete.

The house inspections will start shortly and the machines from the general contractor MIH GmbH are in the starting blocks. The first customers will soon be surfing the net at the speed of light.

Due to the current situation, Deutsche Glasfaser is unable to hold the information evenings in person on site. Nevertheless, residents will have the opportunity to find out first-hand about the fiber optic expansion, as well as the service and tariffs, at an online construction information evening.

All residents of Fredenberg South, Fredenberg West and Lesse will receive a personal invitation to the online construction information evening and are cordially invited to attend. You can take part in the online construction information evening via your computer or mobile device.

The first construction machines will soon be rolling in to expand the fiber optic network in Fredenberg South, Fredenberg West and Lesse using fast, innovative expansion methods. In the first step, the empty conduits will be successively laid in the streets. As soon as the empty conduits have been laid, the optical fibers will be blown in. In this way, a fiber optic network covering several kilometers will be built in Fredenberg Süd, Fredenberg West and Lesse.

Deutsche Glasfaser would like to point out that it is sometimes necessary to temporarily close open areas of asphalt or paving (e.g. with paving stones) as part of the civil engineering work, as these may have to be taken up again. These areas will only be finally compacted, closed and accepted by the city once the construction work has been completed.

At the start of construction, up to 4 crews with approx. 5-10 employees each will be on the road in the town as planned. Before the start of construction work in a street, residents will be informed of the date as early as possible with a corresponding notice in their letterbox.

The construction processes are carried out in close cooperation between the city and construction management. The city inspects and documents each expansion area in advance. Once the work has been completed, all public surfaces (roads, sidewalks) are inspected by the city. Proper restoration of the surfaces by the appointed general contractor is obligatory. If any repairs are required, the site management will take care of them immediately.
